LMH Responds to CNN Report

“Lincoln Military Housing (LMH), in concert with the Navy and with the assistance of state licensed mold inspectors and remediators, has carefully inspected each of our homes to make sure they meet the highest standard of living. Out of 4,400 homes less than four percent have been found to require professional remediation under state standards. As CNN’s own Chief Medical Correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, has said, “mold is everywhere it is microscopic fungi that live in every yard and every home.” LMH is aware of this and reminds residents that they should alert LMH of any water intrusion or suspected mold intrusion as soon as possible. We have and will do everything we can to address these issues as quickly as possible to ensure our families are comfortable in their homes.

“LMH takes the health of our residents very seriously. If any of our residents have health concerns, LMH immediately refers them to Navy medical officials. Since January, Navy Medical has been conducting outreach with LMH residents in the Hampton Roads area. Out of 12,600 LMH residents, just 85 requested allergy tests through Navy Medical. Navy Medical found only 3 patients tested positive for allergies to mold. We at LMH have done and will continue to do whatever is recommended by doctors to ensure the safety of the families we serve.”

“Members of the military have a choice in housing, and residents continue to choose LMH. Our overall resident satisfaction rate has been at the top of industry standards. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality of living, excellent service and commitment to our residents. We encourage anyone who is interested in all of the facts on this situation to visit www.lmhcares.com for more information.”
